On October 8, 2008, Governor Rendell signed into law Senate Bill No. 908 which will amend the Auctioneer and Auction Licensing Act to include Trading Assistant Registration Act.

Trading Assistant Registrant is an individual who, for a commission or fee, conducts or intends to conduct a business within this Commonwealth of accepting personal property to sell on behalf of another through an online Internet bidding platform.
